When the morning dew is still fresh on the grass, anglers from all over flock to Lake Weissensee, especially in the spring. Absolute silence and becoming one with nature make fishing here so appealing. Lake Weissensee is largely unspoilt and with its varying depths is an ideal holiday destination for anglers.

The natural fish stock has been actively built up again over the past few years, giving the agricultural community the environmental award from the State of Carinthia. Today, 24 different species of fish live in the lake: from whitefish and lake trout to pike and carp up to tench and pike-perch.

The great visibility in the crystal-clear mountain lake demands the skill of the angler. The best time for fishing is early in the morning or in the evening when only the stroke of oars can be heard.
